Kripalu emphasises self-inquiry and compassion, teaching a progression from form and alignment toward deeper internal awareness and 'meditation in motion.' Programming ranges from gentle to dynamic, but the inward attentional stance is the defining characteristic of the practice.

History & Origins
The tradition is named after Swami Kripalvananda, an Indian master of Kundalini yoga. Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in Stockbridge, Massachusetts has for decades been one of the largest yoga and health retreat centres in North America, shaping thousands of teachers and practitioners.
